There has been no dearth of promotional events including seminars, Business Plan competitions and hackathons in eastern India, to encourage entrepreneurship. However this region still lacks far behind its western and southern counterparts.

From our past experiences as organizer and guest speakers in various such events we have identified that in existing formats, the benefit goes only to those few individuals who are already far ahead in terms of their technical exposure (Usually in IT ), leaving a great majority of youth behind, despite them having equal or higher capabilities for innovation and entrepreneurship .

Hence adopting the existing hackathon model which has proven successful in other parts needs to be modified to suit the demands of the local community of eastern India, when it comes to creating a vibrant startup culture and community.
